“It is good to know what the index is today, but better to know what it does tomorrow”
Many future MBA students would like to join the world’s best ranked MBA’s. It’s just a few students who are accepted. Therefore many students make a strategic choice today and apply for Business Schools which have potential to become one of these world’s best ranked MBA’s tomorrow. An MBA is an investment, and therefore students prefer that the MBA is also valuable in the future.
The Rising Stars is the MBA Ranking of Findyourmba.com. The ranking consist of the top 10 business schools which made a significant improvement in the past two years. Findyourmba.com made the ranking to help future MBA students in their choice which Business Schools have most potential to become an established business school in the upcoming 2 to 10 year.
The ranking of 2009 is based on improvements in the past 4 years and data of the year 2007 and 2008. Some data which is used by established rankings is also used for the Rising Stars. On the other hand many variables, like forum activity of students, internet activity among MBA students, politics, long term investments of business schools and strategic choices, are ignored by the established rankings. Other variables which are used by the established ranking are not included in our methodology. For example alumni questionnaires are in some rankings over 55% of the final result. Many business schools try as hard as they can to boost these results by informing – almost brainwashing - the students how important it is for them to fill in these questionnaires as positive as possible.
Findyourmba.com criticizes the Business Schools from a students’ perspective. We questioned many established variables. Working experience is valued highly, is that good or bad? If students do not have that much working experience, they might have more time to profit from their MBA and have more time after the MBA to become a true leader and as a result indirectly boost their MBA? What is the perfect men/women percentage? Does a school need to have 60% or 90% international students? Could a school lose its identity with too many international students? These are all questions which are subjective.
Therefore Findyourmba.com asks you for your

. What do you find important and what would you like to be taken into account in our ranking? The Rising Stars is not a fixed ranking and understands the changing needs of students. Therefore, every year we will leave some room to adapt the methodology and create a dynamic methodology instead of a fixed methodology to comply with the changing needs in our world.
We received much more applications than expected and selected the top 10 most rising Business Schools. Findyourmba.com would hereby like to congratulate the Grenoble Graduate School of Business on the achievement to become the Rising Star of 2009. We also congratulate the other business schools which made it to the top 10.
Keep on rising,

CEIBS MBA program is designed to prepare talented young people with career aspiration, managerial potential, and international orientation for a career as global business leaders of tomorrow. With its unique focus on China, it is a strategic choice to apply for an MBA at CEIBS, taking the rise of China into account. The CEIBS MBA Program is an established Program which does not make it easy for CEIBS to keep on rising and to keep on making a difference.
Findyourmba.com realizes that making a small step at the top is harder than making an equal sized step near the bottom, only CEIBS could make a difference near the top. To give an impression, let’s take look to the rank of CEIBS on the FT Global MBA: From 2002 to 2009 CEIBS had the following ranks: 92, 90, 53, 22, 21, 11, 11, 8.
Findyourmba.com does not take the ranking of FT into account, but the achievement does show that CEIBS has been a rising star and still is. Nevertheless, we wonder for how long CEIBS can make a difference every year. CEIBS might transform to an ‘Established Star’ which is according to Findyourmba.com a business school which has a strong position within the top 10 in common rankings.
This year CEIBS increased its staff as well as the internationalization of it. The average GMAT score of the students increased and more students choose to apply for the MBA Program. The interest in the Business School as a whole increased and its website welcomed more visitors in 2008 than in 2007. CEIBS also improved on many key issues for MBA students like salary.
Furthermore, CEIBS is AACSB accredited since 2008 and renewed its EQUIS accreditation. CEIBS welcomed many newly enrolled world class professors and reformed its curriculum. Finally, CEIBS will open the new campus in Beijing in November 2009 and improved its exchange partnerships.
CEIBS, a huge Rising Star.

Lancaster Full Time MBA is the number 10 of the Rising Stars. The 12 month program is action-orientated, and includes three consulting opportunities with UK companies, and an emphasis on leadership and international business. Year by year this program has improved and the Business School made some serious steps in the past. During the past 5 years, Lancaster scored the 69th, 39th, 39th, 28th and 22nd rank on the Global Ranking of the Financial Times. The outstanding career management program which runs throughout the entire year, with regular presentations, practical workshops, talks and with individual career consultations for all students is a true added value for the students. The Lancaster Full Time MBA has the total package to continue growing to an Established Star. The school has a location in England's beautiful and safe Lake District, a diverse and global student body, good value for the tuition dollar, serious scholarships where English is the primary language and offers different benefits than many USA MBA’s. For example, Lancaster Full Time MBA has a program called ‘the Mindful Manager’ which is a ‘thread’ that runs throughout the whole MBA Program. They want students to become ‘mindful’ of their collective and cognitive conduct – and of how personal perspectives, ‘prejudices’ and behaviours play a crucial role. Many Business Schools tried to diversify itself from the bulk, but Lancaster seems to succeed. A true Rising Star.
