university-of-maastrichtThe Findyourmba team has noticed the incredible improvement of the Maastricht University for some years. By attracting a number of successful Professors (from the Netherlands and abroad) and maintaining its culturally diverse undergraduate population, it created a fundament for its Part-Time MBA. Most recently, factors such as the implementation of more international programming combined with new facilities like classroom improvements contribute to the rise of the Maastricht University. About Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics

Maastricht University School of Business and Economics is based in the Netherlands, a country historically linked with international trade. Consequently, studying and analysing business and economics problems from an international perspective has always been a core driver of curriculum development since the foundation of the School in 1983. The specific location of Maastricht, at the crossroads of three EU countries and often referred to as the ‘balcony of Europe’, has further intensified this international orientation. Maastricht University School of Business and Economics a truly international school with an extensive partner network based in an international academic and corporate community. In addition to its international genes, SBE’s character has also been shaped by Maastricht University’s decision to adopt the innovative pedagogy of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) as its core educational philosophy. It made the University unique in the Netherlands but also in the rest of Europe. The practice of this distinguishing system of self-directed learning, in which small groups of students are the core learning arena rather than the traditional large scale lecture halls, infused a spirit of innovation in the School. The School is top-ranked and is Triple Crown Accredited.

Most challenging achievements and the future

Challenging, instructive, inspiring, broad, high-quality, state of the art, interactive, varied, and complete! That is how our students describe the International Modular Executive MBA programme of Maastricht University School of Business and Economics.
The International Modular Executive MBA is a flexible general management programme for working professionals and managers. The study has a minimum duration of two years and the possibility to spread out the study load over three years. A small scale and interactive setting enables students to reflect on academic and applied knowledge, to generate and co-create new insights and to experiment with applying these in the own work environment. The learning process is supported by a Leadership Development Trajectory. This trajectory offers insights in the own behaviour at work and in how one relates to other people in a leader or follower position.

Differentiating factors

At Maastricht University School of Business and Economics we strongly believe that for learning to take place, we need to create a setting in which participants can develop the ability to reflect on their (work) experience and to translate their reflections into action. That is why our programs take place in small group settings. That is why we devote a lot of time to personal development. And that is why we integrate action learning projects in all of our programs.
